Hot-water soluble HPMC blends directly with dry-mix products—such as putty powders and mortars—to ensure uniform dispersion. HPMC boosts the performance of cement, gypsum, and other hydraulic construction materials.In cement-based mortars, it improves water retention, extends the adjustment and open times, and minimizes segregation and settling.
HPMC improves the mixing and application of construction materials; dry-mix formulations containing HPMC blend rapidly with water, reaching the desired consistency quickly. Cellulose ethers dissolve more rapidly and without clumping. HPMC can be dry-blended with other ingredients in construction materials; possessing cold-water dispersibility, it effectively suspends solid particles, resulting in a finer and more uniform mixture. Furthermore, it enhances lubricity and plasticity, improves workability, and makes the application process more convenient. Its enhanced water retention extends the working time, helps prevent the vertical slippage of mortars and tiles, prolongs the open time, and boosts construction efficiency.
HPMC increases the bond strength of tile adhesives and improves the crack resistance of mortars and board joints. It not only increases the air content within the mortar but also significantly reduces the likelihood of cracking.
