Selection of HPMC Viscosity for Self-Leveling Applications
In self-leveling mortars, the selection of HPMC viscosity is of critical importance. Different HPMC viscosities exert varying effects on the material’s flow properties.
Generally speaking, self-leveling systems are best suited for HPMC products with relatively low viscosity. Low-viscosity HPMC allows the material to maintain excellent flow characteristics while simultaneously ensuring effective water retention.
Conversely, the use of HPMC with excessively high viscosity may result in an increase in the material’s overall viscosity, thereby compromising the self-leveling performance.
Therefore, during the formulation design phase, it is essential to select the appropriate viscosity grade based on the specific performance requirements of the material.
